Challenges
Liffey River Trust often face a range of challenges regarding the upkeep of waterways and weirs. Below is an example of some ongoing work.
Decades of neglect resulting in serious issues affecting fish migration.

Much appreciation to John Stack Senior Engineer Dublin City Council, Josie Mahon & Fergal Caffery Inland Fisheries Ireland (IFI) for progressing emergency repairs to damaged sluice gates at Islandbridge on the River Liffey. The temporary works will help ensure migratory fish will have an unhindered migration route back into the river this summer. The project is a great example of collaboration between the newly formed Liffey Rivers Trust, the formidable Liffey Salmon Project, Chapelizod Anglers, Cunningham Civil & Marine Ltd. and the relevant government organisations above.
